Aireon Space-Based ADS-B

In 2018, a constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites will host a surveillance system capable of real-time global tracking of ADS-B equipped aircraft, covering even remote regions of the Earth. The advanced ADS-B system will help to optimize flight paths, and track equipped aircraft, reducing the risk of disappearances like Malaysia Airlines flight MH-370 which vanished in 2014.
