BioLite camp stove

This clever, portable woodburning campstove converts heat from the fire into usable electricity via a thermoelectric generator. This, in turn, powers an internal fan, improving combustion and creating a smokeless campfire. As if that wasn’t enough, surplus electricity is directed to the USB port for charging your phone or GPS unit.

Assignment

“I want you to combine the product photo with your Photoshop rendering and a vector art overlay. And make it cool looking!” Those, or words to that effect, were the marching orders given to me by PopSci‘s creative director. Using Photoshop, I was able to virtually cut through the BioLite to expose the inner workings. An Illustrator overlay was then used to render the implied exterior of the product. The BioLite was not only a fun project, but the only one that ever inspired me to go out and buy the product myself. Love it!
